    About this item

A scarce example of an original Second World War private purchase helmet carrier in very good condition.

This style of helmet carrier was available to buy from private companies throughout the Second World War. They were a popular item on the Home Front with civilian bodies issued with steel helmets, the Home Guard, Police, Civil Defence and many others.

The carrier is made from a khaki coloured cotton canvas and features a webbing tape strap which can be adjusted with a metal slider buckle. The cover fastens around the brim of the helmet and is secured with press studs. Inside the case is a pocket which features an inverted pleat which allows the pocket to expand into the inside of the helmet. This pocket features a flap which again fastens with a brass press stud.

A rare piece of Home Front equipment which would make a fine addition to any WW2 collection.

Please note that the police helmet is not included in the sale and only shown in the pictures for display purposes.
