    About this item

For sale is an WW2 Royal Air Force The Flying Reference Book By F.J.Camm Published 1940.

The preface states:   “PREFACE   THIS book has been planned to provide an easily consulted work of reference on the aircraft industry and its achievements. The first edition went to press in June, 1939, and this second edition has been rendered necessary by the important part which aircraft is now playing in world affairs. The industry, at the present time, employs nearly 200,000 skilled workers and it has provided a number of new careers, particularly in the armed forces. It is appropriate that this important science and in- dustry should have a reference book devoted to it and its kindred branches, so that all those connected with the industry and its kindred interests have available a source of reference similar to those which have been produced for other industries. As far as I have been able to trace, this is the first reference book of its kind. Readers will understand that at the present time, when a rigid censorship is applied to information likely to be of value to the enemy, I have not been able to include details of machines, equipment and facts which are on the secret list, or which could be useful to the enemy. I ask, therefore, their indulgence in the matter of such omission. It has been my endeavour to include fact and historical information of general use so that the reader can consult such within the covers of one book. Of the vast amount of material available for inclusion, that prin- ciple has been my guide in selection and emendation.   F. J. CAMM.”   This book is an excellent reference book for ww2 allies and axes military aircraft, including diagrams, photographs, guides, instructions, facts, tables etc.    This is in good condition.    This will be sent via Royal Mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.
