1918 Dated British Mounted Troops Boots

A 1918 dated pair British Army Mounted Troops High Boots.

Constructed in a pebbled brown leather these Boots were intended for use by the Cavalry and Artillery and feature 14 pairs of eyelets and a single strap with a roller buckle. A wide full length leather tongue gives good protection against the ingress of water.

The toes are squared off and each heel has a horseshoe steel protector whilst one remains to the toe of only one sole.

The insoles of both Boots are clearly stamped with the size 8, 115 and 1918.

Overall condition is good, and the boots remain in their original condition without having been polished or treated in any way. There is slight loss to the stitching of the over seam of one Boot where the legging meets the shoe and some also around the very top of one legging. Both closure straps have some cracking and are perhaps somewhat fragile.
