Original 1948 Dated Women's Royal Naval Service PT Plimsolls - Size 4

A rare original pair of Women's Royal Naval Service PT plimsolls which were made in 1948. 

This style of Plimsolls was used by the WRNS for a number of years. They were issued as part of the physical training uniform and used for sporting activities and exercise etc. They are made from an off-white coloured cotton canvas and feature a molded sole and toe cap. Four white painted eyelets are fitted to the vamp through which is fitted the original laces. 

Inside the shoes the original maker's markings are still present to the insole. They include the maker's name of 'D. R. Co Ltd', the 1948 date and the size of 4. 

The shoes appear to be in unworn, deadstock condition. There are some signs of wear and age but overall they display well and look to be wearable. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a vintage, worn pair of trousers which have small issues commensurate with age.
