About this item
An original pair of 1945 dated British Army Officer's field boots in a size 8L.
This pattern of boots was introduced in the mid war period and were available from Royal Army Ordnance Corps officer's clothing shops. They are made from a brown coloured leather which has a pebble finish and feature an apron front toe. The top of each boot features an integral gaiter which fastens with two straps and brass buckles. The soles are leather and have had plastic sole protectors added, whilst the heels are rubber.
Inside the boots the original markings are present and include the manufacturer's name of 'NORAVIC', the size of 8L and the 1945 date. As well as this is a War Department inspector's stamp to each boot. The insoles are also marked with the size and date.
The boots are in reasonably good condition as can be seen in the pictures. They have had plenty of use and show signs of age and wear but do look to still be wearable. There is a neat repair to the left boot as shown in pictures 6 and 7. They are far from perfect which is reflected in the price. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A classic pair of wartime officers boots!
