About this item
An original 1952 dated Royal Air Force Officer's beret in good condition.
This pattern of beret came into issue with the RAF in the latter part of the Second World War and became standard headwear for many years after. This example has been fitted with a beret size officer's cap badge which is clearly original to the hat. It features a leather sweatband around the circumference of the opening as is usually encountered.
Inside the beret the original markings are still present and include the maker's name of 'Nalbo', the 1952 date, the RAF stores code 22F/994 and the size of 6 7/8. The War Department broad arrow marking is also present.
The condition of the beret is good overall with some sign of wear and age etc. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
A nice original example from the early 1950s.
