Original WW2 British Made US Army Officer's Monk Strap Shoes by 'Church's' - Size 10

An original pair of regulation pattern United States Army officer's monk strap shoes which were made in Great Britain by 'Church's' during the Second World War. 

This pattern of shoes was available to officers of the US Army and were a popular alternative to standard lace up shoes. These examples were made in the UK but the well known British shoemaker 'Church's', who are still in business today. Various British maker's catered for US Army servicemen stationed in England as they were much better paid and therefore had a higher disposable income to spend on things like new items of uniform. 

The shoes are made from a russet brown coloured leather which is the regulation coloured used by US officer's during this period. They fasten over the vamp with a leather tab and brass, single prong buckle which is a classic Monk Strap design. The soles and heels are also leather with the maker's name of 'Church's' present to the instep. The size of '10' is also stamped to the sole. The interior of the shoes features a leather insole which is also marked with the maker's name. The size is also marked again to the interior. 

The shoes are in fantastic, unworn condition with no signs of previous wear or use. They display extremely well and would be almost impossible to improve on. 

A hard to find style of wartime officers' shoes which have the bonus of being from a prestigious British maker as well as being in stunning, unworn condition.
