Today you are looking at a pair of rare WW2 British Army 1940's Cavalry webbing keyway straps. In an excellent unissued condition
These are are part of the Cavalry equipment 1940 patt. They joined the cartridge pouches to the water bottle on one side and the haversack on the other side. And, when released it allowed them to be used.
The last Cavalry regiment with horses during WW2 was the Household Cavalry in Palastine 1940, before reverting to armoured cars.
So these straps were never needed after then.
