    The Indian Mutiny Medal awarded to Sergeant M. Sharry, 1st Battalion, 88th Regiment of Foot (Connaught Rangers), who was severely wounded in action at Fort Birwa on 21 October 1858

    Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Central India (Serjt. Michl. Sharry, 88th Regt.), 

    Condition very fine

    Michael Sharry was severely wounded during the assault on Fort Birwa in the Oude on 21 October 1858 and was discharged as a result. On that day, the 88th Foot provided some 300 bayonets for Brigadier Barker's Column in the attack.
