William Henry Bayliss was born at Leicester on 6 November 1889, the son of Abraham and Emma Bayliss of Nottingham. He married Hilda Eliza Bayliss of 5 Norwell Terrace, Ryeland Crescent Meadows, Nottingham prior to enlisting at Nottingham. Entering the war in France with the 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards, Bayliss was killed in action on 13 April 1918. He is buried at Aire Communal Cemetery, Pas De Calais; sold together with his original Birth Certificate as well as copied research including Commonwealth War Graves details and M.I.C
