    Another from the excellent LRDG collection I am in the process of listing is this Insignia and Document group to Trooper 22494 Tony Connelly from Opotiki New Zealand, who received a Mention in Despatch, gazetted 15th December 1942.

    The group comprise:

    His LRDG Cap Badge in Brass in very good condition.

    An extremely rare pair of sun bleached LRDG Shoulder Titles, machine embroidered in red on a black background. Very good condition

    A pair of New Zealand Shoulder Titles machine embroidered in white on a black background. Very good condition.

    A copy of a group photograph showing him with his head bandaged, second from the left in the back row.

    A small booklet, Long Range Desert Group (NZ Association) List of Members. Very good condition

    A 1956 dated letter from the Opotiki County Returned Services Association expressing their sympathy to Mrs Connelly on her loss. Very good condition.

    A 1956 dated letter on LRDG (NZ Association) headed note paper to Mrs Connelly also expressing sympathy and signed by the Secretary W.A. Hood and finally a Newsletter noting Tony Connelly’s passing, both in very good condition.
