About this item
An original 1945 dated British Army MKIII Prismatic Marching Compass in good condition.
This pattern of compass was used throughout the Second World War and is still instantly recognisable today. It features a black painted brass body, a lanyard loop and the dial is made from mother of pearl which floats in oil.
To the base of the body the original markings are still present including the maker's initials of T. G. & Co Ltd, the 1945 date and the War Department broad arrow.
The item is in good condition overall and displays well. It is a vintage piece however with some signs of age and wear.
A nice original item from the Second World War.
