CHILDS WW2 GERMAN VM40 GAS MASK

A childs VM40 Gas Mask in original box and packaging, including the pattern to make a bag. Box is in poor but stable condition.

All paper instructions are there, but in a delicate condition

The actual mask is in original condition with no perishing to the rubber.

Nazi emblem in red the right outer hand side and G23 on the lefthand out side

On the inside in Black it is stamped A-W-D/12

The mask was produced coloured in either dark green or black, 

The eye lenses of the VM40 tend to discolour overtime becoming more yellow or red, like other gas masks with cellulose eye pieces from the same period. This mask seems to have little to no discolouration to the lenses

The mask was produced in four sizes: K (Kinder - Children), F (Frauen - Women), M (Männer - Men) and M-Ue (Männer-Übergrösse - Men-Oversize), with the M-Ue size (presumably) only being produced when specifically ordered, as this was the case with the VM37. The size is written both on the bottom of the intake piece of the mask and on the middle piece of the box that holds the mask in place.  As you can see there is a K on the box so this is a childs
