About this item
For Restoration.
A rather nice, but somewhat neglected 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Troopers Sword.
This is quite an early example, by Woolley & Co, Birmingham.
It carries the makers marking stamped to the spine, and in flowing script to the side of the scabbard. There is also a crowned "1" inspection marking to the service sharpened blade.
This recently uncovered example will require a good clean, and possibly a replacement grip, due to the woodworm attacking the original, although if it could be stabalised and filled it may be salvagable.
It requires work but given what some very mediocre examples are currently fetching, it would be well worth investing the time and effort in.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched. Please send this at the time of ordering, to prevent unnecessary delay in your order being dispatched.
