    A very good condition Pith 'Wolseley' pattern sun helmet. Late WW1 with internal leather sweat band and complete with multi fold pagri band. Faint manufacturers stamp overwritten by hand 5/2/17. Cloth Retailers label ' Tress & Co, London'. Clear owners name Captain M.O.B. Broadbridge , Devon Regiment.
    Captain Broadridge first served in the 28th London Regiment (Artist's Rifles which served as a holding unit for prospective officers) as a private. After being commissioned served in the 8th Devonshire Regiment. Landed in France July 1915 as part of the 7th Division. In late 1917 the division was transferred to Italy where a sun helmet was required.
    The helmet is approx size 6 3/4. Cork is in excellent condition free from any weaknesses. Little wear.
