This is an early pre-WW2 Dress cap.
Going by the tailors label of Hawkes & Co ltd it was made post 1912
There is a further label inside the hat band which I think could be the work no = 198 january =1 1936= year n and this fits in with the style of hat.
I found two men from RAMC Possibly a Stanley Arnott who was made a Colonel in 1936 and a man called William Arnott during World War 2. But would leave the research to you..
Moth hole and surface moth to the top.
It is an early style cap stiffener also has a gilt and silver badge
