A very good example of the desirable Beaded And Ribbed Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife.
This example comes in good condition, used and carried, but not abused.
Brass grip with nine rows of beads. The distinctive flattened pommel button with correct vice marks. Steel cross guard with traces of the original blacked finish and some fine scratches, likely from a previous cleaning attempt.
The hand ground blade measuring 6.5 inches. Now bright with signs of its original backed finish at the base of the blade. Signs of service sharpening, and appears to have been repointed with some skill during its service.
Housed in a correct war time scabbard, with original tabs and elastic retainer band present. Stamped "W" to the rear, denoting a waxed finish. Rear seamed blued chape.
Overall a good example of this desirable pattern.
