About this item
For sale is a WW1 British War Medal Issued To Wounded Pioneer G Hitchen Royal Engineers.
Unfortunately this medal has seen better days but is very rubbed, but luckily we were able to find our soldier using his service number and initials that can still be seen on the medal. This medal is engraved “129809 Pnr G Hitchen RE”. George Hitchen was from Bradford, England and served with the Middlesex regiment under the service number A/2989 and with the royal engineers under the service number 128809. George Hitchen was wounded in action whilst serving with the royal engineers on the 15th October in 1918 and was entitled to wear a wound stripe from Then on, on his uniform. He was awarded a British war medal and a victory medal but only the British war medal is present. Accompanying this medal is 2 scans of their service records. Upon payment please let me know if you would prefer digital scans or printed copies. There is still plenty of research to be done on this medal! This will be sent via royal mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.Additional Information
