About this item
Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, Badger Head undress sporran belonging to Lt Colonel Orelie Hannah, who was in command of the regiment when killed in action at the battle of Magersfontein during the Boer War. He was killed carrying out suicidal orders from the officer commanding. His horse was shot from under him and he was then shot several times by Boer marksmen. The sporran is in unusually fine condition, showing little signs of wear and the five tassels in excellent condition. Superb red Morocco leather pouch. Will reduce price to £700 if purchased with the A&SH Commanding Officers Full Dress/Levee Sporran (to keep them together).
