About this item
An extremely rare and historically important Aerial Leaflet dropped to Resistance groups in France during the allied invasion of France
Produced by Z F9 and measuring 215mm x 135mm the Leaflet is in very good condition with a slight stain to the top left hand corner and two very minor tears. It is of course as with everything I sell, guaranteed original.
The last two images show Google translations of both sides which provide information of the treatment of members of the Resistance by the Germans. It points out that they are protected under the rules of war as recognised combatants fighting for the allied forces while wearing FFI insignia and that other action taken against is a war crime.
Signed by General Eisenhower, this is the first of these Leaflets I have encountered and it is interesting to note that one is reproduced on the back fly cover of Eisenhower’s 1948 book “Crusade in Europe”
