About this item

Another Death Penny this time to James Rennie and contained within a darkened copper frame.

The Death penny itself is in very good condition as is the frame by Wright & Son of Edgware. These frames were purchased separately and feature a wall hanging hook on the reverse.

Both are in very good condition.

The "death penny," also known as the "dead man's penny" or "widow's penny," is a bronze memorial plaque issued by the British government after World War I to the next of kin of British Empire service personnel killed in the war, commemorating their sacrifice.
