For sale is a WW1 & WW2 Medal Group To Cpl W Edwards 48th Trench Mortar Battery RGA.
These ww1 medals are engraved on the rims “292986 Cpl W Edwards RA” and the special constabulary medal is engraved “Sergt Wilfred H Edwards”. Wilfred edwards served in both world war 1 & 2. Unfortunately we’re unsure of Wilfred’s enlistment date however we do know he was discharged on the 30th June 1918 after serving several years with the 48th Trench Mortar Battery royal garrison artillery at the rank of Corporal. After the war and during WW2 Wilfred edwards served as a Constable as a sergeant for a number of years, as the award criteria for the special constabulary medal was 9 years in addition he served a further 4 years as there is also a long service 1944 medal bar present too. These medals are nicely mounted ready to wear for recipient. Accompanying this medal is 3 scans of his service records.
