About this item
An original United States Army BAR belt dating from the post Second World War period.
This pattern of belt was first introduced in 1910 and underwent a number of changes throughout the following decades and remained in service into the 1960s. This example is made from the dark green OD7 shade of material which was introduced in WW2. Based on the lack of charger retaining straps underneath each flap, this example dates from after WW2.
The belt is in good condition and all of the 'Lift the Dot' fasteners work as they should. The belt appears to have been treated with blanco or similar.
A good original belt on the whole.
