About this item
110) Lovely Clean Original Large WW2 RAF Un-Altered B-Type Flying Helmet 1940. In excellent order. The outer leather is lovely soft and supple. The white is where it was cleaned with protective polish and will clean up. It is nicely AM marked and coded. The chinstrap and Bennetts buckle is all perfect as is the rear adjustment strap and buckle. All poppers are good with just minor paint loss to the outer surfaces. The inside suede is excellent with just minor dirt and marks. The brow pad is good. It has a lovely internal label dating it to 1939-1940 and showing it as a large size 7 1/2 to 7 3/4. These were used early war for pilots, parachute training and SOE agents. Most were later upgraded having zip up receiver housings added. A nice item in great condition.
