About this item
A well used and damaged RAF B Type Helmet by Frank Bryan, dated 1938.
A size 2 the condition can only be described as fair to poor. One receiver cover has a broken zip, the lower guide bracket on the rear Bennetts buckle is missing and there is extensive surface rubbing to the chrome leather. Inside the chamois has some tears but a good clear label and an AID stamp. Twice named to Flt. Bruce.
On the plus side the right receiver cover has a very good operating zip, both Bennetts buckles carry the name and have their leather trim intact and the press fasteners are the early nickel plated enameled type. The chinstrap is very good with the metal tip in place and the rear strap is also very good. Both received holders are in place and are the early Bakelite variety.
Possibly restorable but a source of a host of valuable spares.
