A scarce gilded brass Cap badge to the 1st American Motorised Squadron, British Home Guard, made by J.R. Gaunt.
Very good overall condition and complete with its central fixing post and securing nut
The 1st American squadron was authorised by a special Order in Council signed by King George VI in September 1940 to permit it to be incorporated in the British Armed forces and was composed of Americans living in London. It was attached to H.Q. London District.
