About this item
A scarce original RAF external wiring loom fitted with a bell plug and type 48 microphone as well as a Type 110 Impedance Unit.
The loom itself is a light tan coloured Q type external loom as usually used with the B type, early C type and D type helmets. A type 48 microphone is fitted to the loom which is in average condition with signs of use and age. The rubber dust cover has gone hard and some of the metal work has corroded.
The loom is fitted with a Type 110 high-low impedance box which is stores reference 10A/13163. It is in poor condition as can be seen in the pictures although it could be replaced with a better example.
Finally is the bell plug which is again in used condition. Part of the bakelite cover is broken and missing and the spring section which sits above this is rusted and in poor condition.
Whilst the bell plug and the microphone aren't in the best shape they could be changed. This is still a hard to find early loom and is complete making it a good potential addition to a flying helmet display.
