About this item
POST-WW2/1950s RAF H-TYPE OXYGEN MASK. A nice example of the H-type oxygen mask, first issued during WW2 and seeing use with the RAF well into the 1980s.
Very similar in appearance to a wartime-issued example, it has the earlier style type-57 microphone with larger rectangular plug. The mask rubber itself is rather good, it's very soft and pliable with no cracking, crazing or hardening. Really no issues bar some light soiling. Fitted with a good harness, both straps retaining good elasticity. The microphone fitted correctly, as mentioned the earlier style. Dated to the side of the microphone, 3-75, so a 1975 dated example, already 50 years old.
Inside the mask shows some light soiling but no damage or issues I can see. Marked to the bottom with broad arrow and size large. Overall a good mask, ideal for an RAF display, collection or museum.
