WW1 period RFC MK1 flying helmet - Frank Bryan

WW1 period RFC MK1 flying helmet - Frank Bryan. Really nice early 20th-century flying helmet, manufactured by Frank Bryan, famous for producing RAF B-type helmets during WW2. This type of helmet was worn by early aviators, pilots, and aircrew during WW1 and into the 20s. 

A really rather lovely helmet, based on the RFC MK1 flying helmet of WW1. The helmet is in excellent condition, the leather still soft and supple, retaining an excellent light brown chromed finish. No damage, rips, or tears to report. Both ear flaps and wind deflectors are all in good condition, with only some light verdigris to the brass presstuds. The peak again is in good condition, trimmed in animal fur, again without loss or damage. The helmet is lined with fur and fleece sections, again without damage or issues. The chinstrap and buckle are again in excellent condition with minor surface oxidation to the metal fittings. Inside the helmet, as mentioned, it is marked with a very nice "Frank Bryan" manufacturer's label, with the Grasshopper logo, and also marked LONDON. 

Overall, a lovely helmet that would grace any WW1 RFC or flying collection, museum, or display.
