About this item
WW2 RAF EXTERNAL FLYING HELMET WIRING LOOM. A nice, used complete external wiring loom, used with the B, early 1st pattern C, D, and E-type flying helmets.
This loom consists of the Q-type loom, jack plug, type-21 microphone, and a pair of receivers. The loom is in good used condition, without any major damage, bar some light soiling and wear. The jack plug has no damage or issues to report. The type-21 microphone shows signs of use and does have some paint wear and loss. The switch, however, moves freely. Stamped to the front with store reference number 10A/11994. A small metal catch that clips the microphone into place on the D-type mask is sadly missing; please see photos.
The receivers are in good condition once again, with no damage visible, and complete with both screw-on covers. Attached correctly to the loom, both are marked with the store's reference number 10A/12401, and one with an A.M. crown mark. The loom is complete with a nice condition Jack plug, without issues.
Displaying rather nicely, it would grace any early flying helmet set. Overall, a lovely wiring loom, ideal for completing any early flying helmet display, RAF museum, collection, or display.
