WW2 RAF Officer's Field Service side cap - Mftd by "J. COLLETT LTD." - Dated 1944. A nice original WW2 RAF officer's field service side cap.
The cap is in pretty good condition; it is lightly soiled from either use or storage, and may benefit from a sympathetic cleaning. Regardless, the cap looks to be in good condition, without any moth damage we can see.
The cap is fitted with a lovely original Officer's badge, again in good condition, with a nice eagle and king's crown. Both king's crown buttons are also in place to the front.
Inside, we find the cap with some wear, but in good, lightly worn condition. The cap is not named, but is labelled with a manufacturer's label for "J. COLLETT LTD. LONDON" dated 1944. Also with a WD War Department stamp, with date code of Z.
Size-wise, it's marked on the label as a size 71/8 , we estimate this to be approximately a size 56-57 UK hat size.
Overall, a lovely original wartime officer's field service side cap. Which would display very well in any WW2 RAF collection, display, or museum.
