Awarded to Captain Alexander Whytt of the Royal Army Medical Corps. British War Medal (CAPT. A. WHYTT.) Captain Alexander Whytt later served in the French Theatre of Operation, 3rd January 1916 serving in France as a military service doctor. Rather interesting recipient who before the outbreak of hostilities he served as a doctor in Park House, Stirling in 1894, credentials noted as MB. CM. MD. U.Edin. Further records later indicate he was a Assistant House Surgeon at Wolverhampton General Hospital, later Assistant House Surgeon at Devonish Hospital in Buxton.
