Third Reich Cased Spange (Bar) to The Iron Cross First Class

A nice condition original Cased Spange (Bar) to The Iron Cross First Class. No repairs (Not Maker marked)

1939 Spange (Clasp) to the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. It was awarded to personnel who had already earned the Iron Cross 1st Class during World War I and then performed an additional act of bravery deserving of the award again in World War II.

Design: A silvered eagle with outstretched wings clutching a laurel wreath containing a swastika, positioned above a trapezoid base featuring the year "1939".

Case: The set includes its original black presentation case with a white silk-lined lid and a black velvet-finished base. The lid of the case is silver-stamped with a replica of the award's design.

Reverse: The back features a flat, tapered pin and a standard "C" style catch.

Notable Characteristics: Unmarked Variant: As noted, this piece is not maker-marked. While many manufacturers produced these, unmarked high-quality versions are common in the collector market.

Condition: The award maintains a crisp strike with visible feather detailing on the eagle and sharp numbering on the 1939 date. There is a visible patina and light wear consistent with age, particularly on the silvering of the eagle's breast and the reverse.

This is a quintessential "double award" piece that bridges two generations of military history.
