About this item
14) Excellent Original WW1 British Army Issue Gas Warning Rattle Dated 1918. In good order. The handle is excellent with nice makers mark and 1918 date. The star shaped wooden cog is good with just wear from use. All metalwork is excellent. The clapper is good but has got some small splits to it. For this reason we have not tried it out as dont want to cause any damage although all still seems good and strong. (see photos) This is fine as is. It has a paint scheme to it of white stripes. We have seen this pattern before so may be original military markings or possibly post war football markings? A nice original WW1 item.
