WW1 RFC STYLE FUR FLYING GAUNTLETS. Nice set of fur flying gauntlets, manufactured by DENTS. Used by pilots and aircrew during the fledgling years of military aviation.
Considering these gauntlets are probably at least 100 years old they have survived remarkably well. They are not without their issues but still a lovely set that display very well. On each glove they have 1 large hole. We have photgraped these so do please check the photos out to see the extent of the holes. Im sure some kind of repair to the holes will improve the appearance massively. The holes aside the gloves are not too bad. The rest of the fur has survived very well, with very minimal loss, still soft and very nice colour. The leather palms have some mottled damage and light marks and scrapes but again not to bad. Still soft and supple leather though retaining good colour. Inside we find a sheepskin style lining, once again in not too bad condition, no loss or staining to report. Only one of the gloves is labelled, manufactured by "DENTS" of Wolverhampton. Overall a nice pair of early flying gauntlets, quite possibly used by a WW1 RFC airman. Ideal for a WW1/RFC display, collection or museum.
