About this item
An original Second World War period British Army Officers Khaki Drill Tunic in well worn condition and was made in India.
This style of Bush Jacket became popular with British Officers during World War Two as a more practical alternative to the regulation Khaki Drill Officers tunic which was cut in the same fashion as the standard green wool tunic. The bush jacket offered a looser fit which proved to be much better suited to fighting and working.
The jacket is made from a khaki coloured cotton drill and features butterscotch buttons to the front, epaulettes, cuff and chest pockets. The jacket also features a spear point shaped collar which is typical of items made during the 1940s. The construction and stitching is typical of items made in India during WW2.
The jacket is a medium size which will suit up to a 39" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measure -
Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 19"
Outside arm - 25 3/4"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 30 1/2"
The jacket has seen some heavy use and has repairs in various places as well as some staining etc which is illustrated in the photographs. Please take time to study the pictures as this is far from perfect with numerous flaws which is reflected in the price.
Whilst in well worn condition, this is an original Indian made example from the Second World War.
This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
