Original 1946 Dated Royal Liecestershire Regiment Battledress Blouse

An original 1946 dated 1940 pattern (austerity) battledress blouse which belonged to 2235622 lance corporal B. Odlin who served with the Royal Leicestershire Regiment in the immediate post-war period. 

The blouse is the standard pattern produced between 1942 and 1946. It is made from a khaki green coloured wool serge and features green coloured vegetable ivory (plastic) buttons throughout. Royal Leicestershire Regiment shoulder titles are fitted to the top of each sleeve below which are Midlands Training Brigade formation badges. Below these are 40th Infantry Division formation badges and lance corporal stripes which have been blancoed. 

Inside the tunic the original label is still present and is bright and legibe. It bears the size of 9 as well as the maker's name of 'L. Silberston & Sons Ltd'. Below this is the 1946 date and the War Department broad arrow marking. There is also a War Department acceptance stamp which is surmounted by the letter 'L'.

The jacket is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are only very limited signs of wear and age and it is quite possible that this was a 'best' BD as it really is a very clean example. It is however a vintage, pre-worn item so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it may have small flaws commensurate with age. 

A very nice originally badged BD jacket in great condition!
