About this item
An original 'Jacket, Overall, Green' clearly dating from 1962 and in unworn condition.
This pattern of fatigue jacket is rare to find today compared to the denim battledress jacket it was intended to replace. Made from a green coloured cotton drill, the jacket features a button front, epaulettes, angled flapped pocket to the skirt and a drawstring waist. Inside the tunic the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It states the manufacturer's name as 'James Smith & Co (Derby) Ltd' and the size as No. 3. The 1962 date is also present as is the War Department broad arrow marking.
The tunic will suit someone of a 34" - 35" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 21"
Inside arm - 17 1/2"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 28"
The jacket is in excellent unworn condition and is very fresh. The cotton still has the sheen to it which it would have done when it left the factory. There is a blemish to the front which most likely occurred during storage. This is a vintage item so please study the pictures before purchasing.
A rare piece of British military workwear from the post-war period in excellent condition!
