Original 1981 Dated US Navy Six Button Peacoat - Size 36S

An original United States Navy six button peacoat which was made in 1981.

This pattern of coat was introduced in the immediate post Second World War period and has since been copied a multitude of times by the fashion industry for many decades. It is a real design classic which is both functional and stylish. 

The coat is made from a dark navy blue coloured wool and features a double breasted front which fastens with large plastic buttons which all feature an anchor emblem. Slash pockets are located to the waist and the rear features a single vent. 

The interior of the coat is lined in rayon and features a hanging loop to the neck. There is also a single interior pocket below which is the original label which bears the DSA number which denotes that the coat was made in 1981 as well as the size of 36S. 

The coat will suit a 34" - 36" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures - 

Chest - 19 1/2"
Inside arm - 17"
Outside arm - 23 3/4"
Shoulders - 17"
Length at rear - 29 1/2"

The coat is in good condition for its age and is still totally wearable. It displays well with no serious flaws or damage. The sleeves are slightly rucked towards the cuff but this may straighten out with pressing. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
