Original WW2 RAF Pilots Service Dress Tunic + Pictures

A nice original wartime example of an RAF pilot's tunic with the rank of warrant officer, accompanied by two pictures. These three items were recently found together in a house clearance but sadly there are no details of who the pilot is. The associated picture of the pilot shows him as a sergeant pilot and he was clearly made up to warrant officer later in the war. The picture of the women has the name of 'Kitty' to the rear as well as the date of 1943.

This jacket is not named or dated but is the correct 4 button design used during the war which was replaced in the immediate post-war years. It features a set of kings crown wings and warrant officer rank badges to the lower portion of each sleeve. There are no medal ribbons fitted which would suggest that the jacket was not worn after the middle of 1945 when these would have been fitted. The jacket retains its original brass kings crown RAF buttons and brass waist buckle.

The general condition of the jacket is very good and it displays well. It is rayon lined as is usual with jackets from this period. Sadly however, there is some damage to the jacket, namely to the left hand bellows pocket, mainly to the bottom. There is also a hole to the rear of the right sleeve which is also illustrated in the pictures. Overall the jacket still displays well but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
