For sale is a Spanish Civil War 1936-39 Spanish Medal For Wounded Foreigners And Original Certificate. This original medal and certificate was issued to Nera Elvino Moro on the 20th June 1938.
This medal states the following; “In attention to the merits acquired in War Operations To Nera Elvino Moro. The General Head of the State of the National Armies has seen fit to grant you the medal of Sufferings for the Homeland for the record and for the satisfaction of the interested party, I issue this diploma in the name of His Excellency in Burgos on June 20 of 1938, II Triumphal Year. Minister of Defense Macional” The medal was awarded to the wounded. Two variants of the medal exist: the gilt and enamelled one for officers, the silvered one for other ranks. A special ribbon was instituted for foreigners, yellow with two vertical thin red stripes as illustrated here, to be awarded to volunteers who fought with Franco troops. This medal is a rare medal of the Spanish civil war but what makes it very rare is that it has its original certificate of issue.
