Awarded to 4-2228 Private George Aggar serving with the 1st/4 Battalion Hampshire Regiment. 1914-15 Star (4-2228 PTE. G. AGGAR. HAMPS. R.). Private George Aggar served in the Asiatic Theatre of Operations. Regimental details noted that 1st/4 Battalion Hampshire Regiment embarked 9/10/1914 serving in Basra area of Mesopotamia. He later died in Quetta on the 13th March 1916 in Ex Mesopotamia. He is remembered on the Delhi memorial (India Gate). Private George Aggar was born in Fleet in Hampshire.
