    About this item

For sale is a WW1 & WW2 Medal Group To Pte J Doulon North Staffordshire Regiment & Research.

This is an interesting Medal group To John Doulton who served in both world wars. The ww1 medals are engraved “12541 Pte J Doulon N Staff R” and the efficiency medal is engraved “5038632 Gnr J T Donlon RA” unfortunately the efficiency medal is incorrectly named.    John enlisted into the British army on Wednesday, 2 September 1914 aged 19 years old, and served in France from 18th of July 1915. Upon enlistment John was a Roman Catholic.   During WW1 John served in three different regiments; North Staffordshire regiment, Machine gun corps and south Staffordshire regiment. By the end of WW1 he was entitled to the victory medal, war medal and 1914-15 star. Unfortunately the 1914-15 star is missing.    On the 4th of September 1917 after three years of service John was transferred/ discharged home due to Inflammation of connective tissue, arm by the 21st Field Ambulance. No. 27 Ambulance Train.   During WW2 John served in the Coast Artillery and Searchlight Regiment where he was awarded the ww2 war and defence medal, and in 1947 awarded the Long Service Good Conduct/ efficiency Medal.   Accompanying this medal are four scans of his service records. Upon payment please let me know if you would prefer digital scans or printed copies.   This will be sent via royal mail special delivery and dispatched within two working days.
