About this item
For sale is a WW1 British Special Constabulary Medal To Edward C Minns From Norfolk & Research.
Edward Charles Minns was born in 1886 in Terrington, Norfolk, England. He lived at Tilney All Saints, Kings Lynn. Before the war his occupation was a farmer, and then during World War One he served as a special constable.
The Special Constabulary Long Service Medal was awarded for service during World War I, with a clasp inscribed "The Great War 1914-18". It was established in 1919 by King George V to recognize the service of Special Constables during the war. To qualify, special constables needed to have served at least three years during the war with at least 50 duties per year and be recommended by a chief officer. The medal was awarded for 9 years of unpaid service with over 50 duties per year.
Accompanying this medal is 2 scans of his records. Upon payment please let me know if you would prefer digital scans or printed copies. There’s still plenty of research to be done on these.
These will be sent via Royal Mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.
