    For sale is a WW1 Victory Medal To Petty Officer T Seers Royal Navy Who Deserted In 1885.

      This victory medal is engraved on the rim “121146 T Seers P.O. R.N”.   Thomas Seers was born on the 14th November 1866 in Harlow, Middlesex. His description on enlistment was black hair, hazel brown eyes, fresh complexion, tattooed on left fore arm and cut on inside of wrist.    He enlisted into the Royal Navy on the 14th November 1884 on his 18th birthday.    In the police gazette dated Tuesday 1st December 1885. Thomas was reported as a straggler from HMS Iron Duke, and a £3 reward was issued for his apprehension.   During Thomas’s service he served onboard the following ships; HMS iron duke, impregnable, Ganges, Northumberland, R Adelaide, excellent, Australia, Pembroke, wildfire, Mersey, harwich, eastern and Suffolk.    Thomas served many years in the Royal Navy and Royal Navy reserve from the 14th November 1884 until his discharge on the 27th February 1919 after 34 years and 3 months of service. He would have been issued a victory medal, war medal, 1914-15 star, and a Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. Unfortunately only the victory medal is present.    Accompanying this medal is 2 scans of his service records. Upon payment please let me know if you would prefer digital scans or printed copies.
