WW1 British War Medal To Pte R Armstrong Royal Scots Regiment

For sale is a WW1 British War Medal To Pte R Armstrong Royal Scots Regiment. 

  This British war medal is engraved on the rim “35418 Pte R Armstrong R Scots”.   John Armstrong was born on the 1st January 1892 in Belfast. Upon enlisting his trade was a tailor, and his beliefs a Roman Catholic.   John enlisted in Glasgow on the 28th of July 1916 aged 38 years and 4 months into the royal Scot’s regiment. Whilst serving in the Mediterranean theatre of war with the royal Scot’s fusiliers he was accused of deserting and when caught he was transferred to a Labour corps.    John Armstrong was entitled to a British war medal, victory medal and blue overseas stripes. Unfortunately the only the British war medal is present.    John was discharged on the 2nd February 1919.    Accompanying this medal is 10 scans of his service records.
