Alfred Thomas Bartlette served in three different regiment’s through WW1 including the queens regiment, royal fusiliers & labour corps. Under the service numbers 18964, 62754, 57749 & Gs/110472. During this period he was entitled to a ww1 war medal and a ww1 victory medal. The regiments Alfred’s served in with the service number can be seen below: 1. 18964 2/R West Surrey Regiment 2. 62754 7/R Fusiliers 3. 577449 967/ Coy Labour Corps 4. GS/110472 44/R Fusiliers In 1917 Alfred was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis, however despite this he carried on serving his country. Alfred was discharged from the British army on the 18th February 1919. After serving 1 year and 4 months. It’s unknown what he did on the lead up to WW2, however he served as a constable during world war 2, and was consequently awarded a defence medal and a Special Constabulary Long Service Medal. His medals have been nicely mounted so they can be worn. However the constable medal has become loose, and does need re stitching. Accompanying this medal are six scans of his service records. Upon payment please let me know if you would prefer digital scans or printed copies. This is an interesting Medal grouping and would benefit from some further research regarding his ww2 service.
