About this item
An original British Army webbing map case which was made in 1943 and is the rare rubberised version.
This pattern of map case was used throughout the Second World War and is made from rubberised cotton rather than the standard webbing more commonly seen. This fabric is superior as it is much more waterproof than the webbing version. The maker's name and 1943 date are marked to the reverse of the case. It has been fitted with a shoulder strap which is a wartime Indian made example.
The map case is in good condition with some signs of wear and age.
