About this item
An original example of a scarce Indian manufactured MK VII respirator haversack.
These Indian made haversacks differ in a number of ways from the British made examples. The most obvious difference is that these bags don't have brass pop studs to secure the main flap but instead brass pommels which fit through small stitched holes in the flap. The bottom of the bag also has 8 small brass eyelets to let the bag breathe rather than the standard 2/3 seen in a British made bag. As well as this, the brass work is typical of indian manufacture being very roughly cast and the stitching is also typical.
Inside the flap the remnants of the original stamp are visible and the 1943 date can be made out.
The condition of this haversack is reasonable for its age with some signs of wear and use. Please study the pictures before purchasing.
A good example of this rare respirator haversack.
