About this item
An original 1944 Dated 1942 Pattern Airborne Surgical Haversack which is in good condition.
This pattern of haversack was introduced in 1942 for use with airborne forces and saw issue throughout the rest of the Second World War and into the post-war years. The pack is made from the standard khaki coloured webbing material used during this period and a large white circle with red cross is painted to the front. The words 'NCO Kit' have also been added to the front.
Inside the bag there are various compartments which are designed to house specific medical supplies such as bandages, tablets etc. There is a pocket to the underside of the flap which is used to house scissors. The underside of the flap also bears the maker's initials followed by the 1944 date.
The bag is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are signs of use and wear but overall it displays very well. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
A nice original example which is in good condition and has a clear wartime date.
This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
